Manufacturing Engineer

geCKo Materials is looking for an individual with a mechanical engineering, machining or equivalent background. The role focuses on engineering and manufacturing of molds and working with the manufacturing operator to improve on efficiency and ergodynamics of the manufacturing lines.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing, machining and designing in CAD.

  • Provide daily direct manufacturing support to troubleshoot and resolve issues and document solutions following GMP.

  • Work directly with the Head of Manufacturing and manufacturing technicians and if needed work on the assembly line to meet high customer demands.

  • Develop standardized methods and procedures to improve manufacturing line efficiency.

  • Provide recommendations on design and manufacturing procedures leading to new product launches.

  • Estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new and existing product lines.

  • Define and implement continuous process improvements to existing manufacturing operations.

  • Identify the root cause of manufacturing related issues and perform corrective and preventive action using established problem solving methods.

  • Perform evaluation and disposition of atypical materials.

  • Participate in technical support and recommendations discussions.

  • Maintain detailed records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.

  • Demonstrate excellent time management skills for on-time delivery of assignments.

  • Take ownership of and manage projects as assigned.

  • Organize and conduct cross-functional sub-team meetings and present updates at all community company meetings.

  • Prototyping and testing of new methods and product concepts.
     

Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Good working knowledge of machined parts, assemblies, and complex large scale equipment manufacturing.

  • Minimum lifting requirement of 20 lbs

  • Previous machine operation experience (ie - CNC, laser cutters) or hands on manufacturing/engineering prototype experience.

  • Proficient in creating, reviewing, and editing of relevant technical documents.

  • Proficient in employing the latest industry techniques and practices.

  • Familiar with the latest available tools or standards used in the industry to complete task(s) specifically CNC, compression molding, and traditional manufacturing tools.

  • Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience with CAD software.

  • Meticulous attention to detail.
     

Typical Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering related discipline and 3 years of related experience or Master's Degree with 2 years of related experience.
